GPayments brings 3D Secure to Kyrgyzstan
Sydney, 4 March, 2019 – GPayments, a leading provider of payment authentication solutions, announced today its collaboration with Interbank Processing Center (IPC) of Kyrgyzstan.
GPayments is providing IPC with ActiveAccess to use as its 3-D Secure Access Control Server (ACS) hosted solution for its client banks. The project is already well underway with IPC’s first client going live back in September 2018.
The collaboration underscores GPayments’ commitment to understanding IPC’s requirements for hosting a highly scalable 3-D Secure ACS. Through GPayments’ ActiveAccess ACS, IPC is able to offer a variety of authentication channels, including multi-factor eBanking authentication, and provide 3-D Secure authentication services.
For IPC, ActiveAccess provides a comprehensive multi-issuer administration interface, suitable for deploying with multiple issuers, and includes a remote authentication model, which provides added security by removing the need for cardholder credentials to be maintained within the ActiveAccess database. The modular nature of the ActiveAccess solution also provides the capacity to integrate with non-3DS authentication protocols, such as Kyrgyzstan’s local card scheme – ELCARD.
GPayments’ extensive experience in payment authentication solutions helps provide the perfect 3‑D Secure authentication platform for IPC in ensuring effectiveness in the battle against online transaction fraud. GPayments has successfully assisted IPC in implementing ActiveAccess and undertaking Verified by Visa testing and auditing. Moreover, GPayments is looking forward to following up with a 3-D Secure 2.0 upgrade, which will add new authentication methods such as risk-based authentication and biometrics; providing cardholders with an improved and frictionless user experience and enhancing online transaction security, as well.

Interbank Processing Center was established in 2004 by joint efforts of the NBKR and 11 commercial banks as a part of the state program to introduce a cashless payment system in Kyrgyzstan. Currently, the shareholders of CJSC Interbank Processing Center are 14 commercial banks, Kyrgyztelecom OJSC, and the Payments LLC (a controlling stake in the NBKR).
