GPayments’ ActiveAccess certified for 3-D Secure 1.0.2
GPayments, the Sydney-based Internet authentication company, has achieved 3-D Secure 1.0.2 certification from Visa International for its Access Control Server, ActiveAccess.
ActiveAccess is an authentication system designed to support both Verified by Visa and Mastercard® SecureCode™ standards for the authentication of online payment transactions. It can be deployed directly by Issuing banks or by service providers offering outsourced authentication services to the banking sector.
ActiveAccess is the first compliant product certified for core specifications of 3-D Secure 1.0.2. as well as mobile commerce extensions to the 3-D Secure 1.0.2 standard which allow consumer authentication from mobile devices.
ActiveAccess has been subjected to a rigorous testing process which involved over 7,000 discrete test cases based on the latest release of the 3-D Secure protocol. According to GPayments’ CEO/CTO, Bahram Boutorabi, “Our development efforts on Verified by Visa and Mastercard® SecureCode™ as well as the pilots and demonstrations over the last two years have all been leading towards this point. 3-D Secure has come of age with the most recent version of the protocol.”
ActiveAccess has also completed Visa International’s new interoperability testing process. This gives issuers greater confidence that when they choose GPayments’ ActiveAccess it will work with components from multiple vendors. “This is exactly what the market needed leading up to the liability shifts in April 2003.”
In addition to providing support for the Visa and Mastercard 3-D Secure programs, ActiveAccess also supports Mastercard’s PC Authentication program providing additional choice and flexibility for Issuers.
